Everything looks better at f/1.4! Kids, flowers, horses, and anything else with nice details really look amazing at f/1.4. In fact, this is a tiny little secret in the photography world. Even a rookie can make something look pretty special when using this lens! Sure, it doesn’t always work out, and you still need good composition, but some extremely unique photos pop out from time to time.

  1. really? shooting at a shallow depth of field is a "tiny little secret in the photography world"?? you say some hilarious things sometimes, Trey

  2. Yes, I like the 1.4 very much, too. Of course a good start for rookies, but, I think there is much more to good photos then just using shallow dof alone.

  3. Very, very fine! It is very much abstract yet identifiable in a way that brings us to an almost remembered scene. Wonderful work!

  4. Have been considering a 50mm f1.4 but am worried about how much i’d actually use the lens since i have a couple of zooms ( none @1.4 but). Having seen your awesome shots, i think i’ll use it a bit! Awesome shots, i love them all!
